Price guide for portraits in oil on canvas.

40 x 50 cm: from £1,000
50 x 70 cm: from £1,500

76 x 102 cm: from £2,500

92 x 122 cm: from £2,900

This is a rough guide for a single head and shoulders, half body portrait. If more of the person is included (like their hands), the price will increase. The same applies for groups, detailed backgrounds, and non-standard sizes. I'm happy to undertake larger commissions (than stated above) too.

My process & method of working

If you'd like commission a portrait I'd be happy to discuss it with you and provide a quote.

​

If you decide to go ahead, I'll require half of the cost as a deposit. The rest is payable upon completion.

 

The process begins with an initial meeting where I can engage and talk to the person/ people I'll be painting. This allows me to get to know them and gain an insight into their character and personality. I'd then take some photographs to work from as reference, so I can paint the portrait in my studio.

The painting would be completed within 3 months and will need to be varnished after 6 months of completion. This ensures the painting is completely dry and preserves it for centuries.
